DNA Banking FAQs
Who Owns The Bank?
The DNA Bank is owned by the Club or organization that has set up a bank. DOGenes Inc. manages and sends samples to researchers.
What kind of samples are collected?
Samples are collected on cheek swabs by a simple noninvasive method so that participation is easy.
What will the DNA be used for?
The DNA banks are meant to provide a resource of DNA from purebred dogs for future research.Owners of both non-clinical animals ( those animals that have not been diagnosed with a genetic disease) and clinical animals (those that have been diagnosed with a genetic disease), are encouraged to participate in DNA banking.

Health Survey Databases

Health surveys serve as a companion to DNA banking, so that meaningful complete,
and current information can be sent to researchers for the DNA samples that they need.
