My dog tested as Homozygous for
mutant alleles. Does this mean that he/she has renal dysplasia?
NO.
This genetic tests tells you if your dog is at RISK for developing the
disease. This mutation is inherited as dominant with incomplete
penetrance.
Both carriers and homozygotes
have a RISK of developing renal dysplasia. MOST carriers and
homozygotes for mutant alleles are sub-clincial.

disease click

DOGenes has
notified me that my DNA did not pass quality control. What did I
do wrong?
The
most common reason for failure to get DNA is that the brushes were not
properly dried, OR, there was dog food on the brush.
After the samples have been
taken the brushes should look pristine. This only happens occasionally, and
when it does
we send replacement brushes to the owner at NO cost.
I
don't have a PayPal account. How can I order kits online with my
credit card?
When you check out from our
site you are taken to the PayPal site where you can enter in
your credit card information. Here is what you will see on the
PayPal site.
